Lover Boy — EP: The Introduction of an Era
Lover Boy by BENKAY THE FIRST is an EP about love. It highlights various romantic gestures and attitudes and instantly changes the listener's mood.
It starts with Miss You, a song that reminisces the feeling of love. This song paints a picture of a beautiful woman. It talks about how majestic she is, and how her dancing fills me with many emotions. I can’t have enough of her and I definitely can’t wait to have her around me. She makes me forget about the world so in return I make her happy. It’s a fan-favorite song because of the story behind the music!
The next song on the queue is Sinner, a song about being defiantly in love, about breaking the norms because you want that kind of love you crave. It’s a story about being craved even though your vices seek to deny you that love. Sinner is a great listen for anyone who wants to feel like a bad boy/girl in love.
Next up is Loli Loli, this song is a twerk song that induces a feeling of sensuality in the listener and is good for lovers to dance to. It has a very playful vibe and uses chants in between melodies that make it a catchy tune that sticks in your head long after you’re done listening.
After that comes For Me, a fast-paced song that is repetitive in order to stamp out any doubt about how much love means to me.
Finally, In the Rain is an Ogene song. As the name implies it likens a romantic happily ever after to how much fun we derive from dancing in the rain together. At one point in your life you have thought about dancing in the rain with someone you love and those thoughts are lucid. This song talks about that experience and uses a sweet sounding ogene-coded melody to deliver this story.
